About Mirage
Mirage is a J&J designs 40 foot Bavaria with the three cabin layout built in 2001. She was purchased new in 2001, and was sold on at the start of 2019. The new owner ordered new sails, new standing and running rigging and paid to have her upgraded, however, by the end of 2019, the new owners plans had changed, and he placed her on the market, where we purchased her in the winter of 2019.

Interior
The one thing we needed to go cruising for extended periods was space and comfort, so we knew we needed a boat that would be able to comfortably house Elizabeth, me, Thomas, Sophie and Matthew as they grew. This meant a charter configuration three cabin layout was essential.

Mirages forecabin has loads of hanging storage and an en suite heads. Under the forward bunk is some storage plus an additional 150 liter water tank.

The chart table is a functional space with a Raymarine E7 chartplotter and a Simrad RD68 VHF. The all important Eberspacher D4 heater controls are here too!

The two aft cabins offer a great space with two port holes in each and loads of storage.

The engine was an upgrade option on the Bavaria, with the standard fit engine being 29 horsepower. The engine looks in very good condition and the extra power is a great positive for the boat.
On deck
On deck she has new running and standing rigging. She has a new suit of Kemp sails including a roller furled Genoa and a roller furled Main (that I was originally unsure of, never having had in-mast furling before).
