Diesel Water Separator NON GENIUNE Racor Type FG500

Filter element: Diameter:80mm Height:78mm

Inlet and outlet threads: M14*1.5mm(the M14 bolts are supplied).

Max flow: 60gallon/h(227L/h).

Oil pipe connector: 10mm(suitable internal dia. 10mm diesel pipe).

Applicable engine: under 90 HP, 3-5 litre diesel engine.

Filter fitration capacity: 30 micron.

Connector installation: the end marked with "IN" is inlet, the end marked with "OUT" is outlet.

Note: Only suitable for diesel filtration (suitable for motorcycle, cruise truck, light truck), not for gasoline.

Although this is a Chinese copy of the Racor water seperator it is excellent value for money and does the job. I wasn't sure of the size of the supplied filter so I bought two spare 10 micron filters from another source. I found the O rings supplied were fine and the unit has worked well for several hours with no leaks. Although some other Chinese copies attract negative reviews of the quality of the finished casting, this unit had no rough edges and the seals are all well fitting.

      Overall very happy with the product. I like the option of Banjo or straight connection. only slight niggles are that on receiving the item the upper t handle which secures the filter cavity lid had been overtightened meaning the smaller o-ring which seals the t-bar thread to the cap was damaged and torn. This will have to be replaced before use. Also it would be nice to know the micron number for the filter to aid in deciding on replacement cartridges.

      Il filtro separatore per gasolio KATSUI 500FG è un clone cinese del filtro Parker Racor 500FG di cui condivide estetica e funzionalità, ma non il prezzo (poco più di 50 euro) che è cinque volte inferiore all'originale, ciò nonostante si presenta solido e ben fatto ed utilizza gli stessi elementi filtranti in carta. Il funzionamento di un filtro separatore “tipo Racor” è duplice, la cartuccia in carta trattiene le particelle solide mentre un sistema centrifugo separa l'acqua dal gasolio, ma senza organi interni in movimento in quanto l'effetto centrifugo è ottenuto imponendo al liquido un flusso concentrico che risulta sufficiente per provocare la separazione dell'acqua che, essendo più pesante del gasolio, precipita sul fondo dell'ampolla trasparente dalla quale può essere spurgata tramite una apposita valvola di scarico. La cartuccia filtrante fornita in dotazione è da 30 micron, misura solitamente impiegata quando questo filtro viene installato in configurazione primaria (pre-filtro) a cui va abbinato un secondo filtro da 10 o 2 micron (soluzione adottata specialmente in ambito nautico), mentre se si intende impiegarlo come unico filtro (ad es. su un autoveicolo o un mezzo meccanico) sarà opportuno adottare una cartuccia più filtrante da 10 o 2 micron. Nel mio caso ho acquistato questo prodotto per allestire una linea di filtraggio per recuperare gasolio dalla cisterna di un impianto di riscaldamento dismesso. Come potete vedere dalla foto che ho allegato, il filtro è collegato direttamente al tubo di aspirazione (non ho trovato istruzioni, ma l'entrata del filtro è a destra) mentre in uscita (a sinistra) è collegato alla pompa del carburante che determina il flusso. Questa configurazione con filtro in depressione è vivamente consigliata dalla Parker per due motivi, primo, per preservare la pompa che in questo modo aspira gasolio pulito, secondo, perché montando la pompa prima del filtro (configurazione con filtro in pressione) si ridurrebbe l'efficacia della separazione dato che il passaggio del liquido nella pompa favorirebbe l'ulteriore emulsione dell'acqua nel carburante. Parker raccomanda anche di sostituire la cartuccia in carta secondo necessità in caso di rallentamento/impedimento del flusso (significativo dell’intasamento del filtro) oppure ogni 16000 km / 500 ore di regolare funzionamento. Detto questo, non mi resta che passare alla conclusione: rapporto qualità/prezzo eccellente, prodotto consigliato!!!
