This multivolt LED bulb enables an existing light to be used as a navigation light, with three different lighting modes: 360° anchor light (white), 3-colour light (white, red, green) and SOS flashing light. The existing wiring can still be used, since the lighting modes are selected by switching the unit off and on.
The TRICOMBO LED bulb also has an integrated brightness sensor, which automatically switches on the anchor light in the dark and switches it off during daylight.
If the light holder of the existing anchor light is not exactly aligned with the bow/stern axis, the innovative design allows for 3-colour operation.
Multivolt: 10-30 V DC, polarity free. Socket: BAY15s.
Selecting different lighting modes while in operation
- After switching on, the LED bulb functions as a 360° anchor light, approx. 1 W
- Switch off and immediately on again during operation: 3-colour mode is activated, approx. 0.7 W
- Switch off and then on after 3 seconds during operation: SOS flashing light is activated, approx. 4 W
- Switch off during and after > 5 seconds: 360° white anchor light is activated, approx. 1 W
Technical specifications:
- Operating voltage: Multivolt, polarity-free, suitable for 12 and 24 volts
- Power consumption (@ 12V)
- Anchor light: approx. 1 W
By daylight sensor deactivated: 0.05 W
- 3-color lantern: approx. 0.7 W
- SOS flashing light: approx. 4 W
- Base BAY 15s (bayonet locking with one pin)
- Luminaire top / base alignment adjustable
- Total height: 60 mm
- Diameter top: 35 mm
- Base diameter: 15 mm
Notes:
Brightness sensor
As a rule of thumb, all assembly and functional tests should be carried out during daylight.
Consider the brightness sensor.
The anchor light only works in the dark!
It may be necessary to cover the sensor on the top of the light with a opaque adhesive strip, in order to conduct the functional test. Do not forget to remove it after finishing the functional tests.
Align the illuminant for 3-color operation
Don't worry if the light holder of the existing anchor light is not exactly aligned to the bow / stern axis of your boat. With just a few simple turns, the light can be adjusted for the 3-color operation:
Plug the bulb into the light holder and see if the red / green separation is exactly on the bow / stern axis of the boat. Note the misalignment, remove the illuminant from the anchor light, loosen the 3 screws on the underside and twist the upper part of the light on the base to the required degree. Fasten the screws, re-insert the illuminant into the anchoring light and check whether the setting was successful or if a small adjustment is necessary. That's it!
